The 2008 Hail to the Chefs gala fundraiser was held on Saturday, May 31 at the beautiful Hudson Library & Historical Society. Over 200 attendees were treated to delicious food selections prepared by nine restaurants that also participate in Taste of Hudson. Chefs from the Western Reserve School of Cooking prepared an unbelievable dessert selection
Hail to the Chefs was hosted by WKDD 98.1 FM morning personality Matt Patrick with entertainment by Jim Henning on the patio with the Dallas Coffee Jazz Trio providing background music during the dining portion of the evening.
The Cleveland Wine School presented wine tasting on the patio and also provided wines to complement the dining selections.
The second annual “Children at Heart” award was presented to Lisa Pardi, Safe Kids Coalition of Summit County Coordinator. Lisa was recognized by William Considine, President & CEO of Akron Children’s Hospital as also being responsible for the Summit County Safe Kids being named the top chapter- of 300- in the United States!

Special mention goes to the 27 different organizations that provided items for the evening’s silent auction.

Hail to the Chefs organizing committee included Event Chair- Carrie Gynn, Taste of Hudson Executive Director Andy Malitz, Jim Hackney, Jan Gusich, Billie Henning, Lisa Pardi, Vicki Parisi, Lori Bird, Julie Kodatsky, Lynn Nelson, Sue Hutchinson and all .the volunteers from Akron Children’s Hospital and Hudson High School.
